Time for the Yellow Roses of Texas?

I always think of the Cactus flower, there are different colors
but the trees and the different flowers or weeds that bloom seem to be a lot of yellow.

Closeup center of the Cactus Rose.

The Tree, do not know it's name but it has all these flowering yellow blooms.

The tree behind had blossoms that were yellow.

And Viola is even carrying a yellow trash-bag with orange and grapes for them birds.
Even a weed has a yellow center.
Viola is in the Lantanas

Just every thing is greening up it is spring

This Cardinal is after a grape Viola set up on the tree, he did get it but did not share with Mrs Cardinal.

May I share this limb with you? Think she said no for he did not sit.

All the Birds are singing and there is a lot of cooing going on!

Not to many here and it is close to our Mobile Home Park and on the Arroyo Colorado River

In Memory of Lupita

As we drove in off of the Old Military Road to Santa Maria Park at the old church there to our left was a swimming pool (never noticed before that there was a Little park and a swimming pool there) with the stuffed animals and candles and a sheet with the words "Missing You Lupita" we Love You.
Viola said she remembered that it was in the paper about 8 year old Lupita with D. S. had wondered away while her mother was hanging clothes near by. Some one had left the gate unlocked and they had found her in the pool.

It is quiet here the church is closed and the little park was empty only a county employee stopped to eat a bite in his truck. On the north side are a few homes of the small community and on the south across the Military Road is nothing but farmland and the Mexican Border.
The Church is boarded-up and where the Stained Glass Window are covered, they may not be there any more. There is a Plaque placed left of the door it has on it:

Will Viola be able to cross again?

Took This Picture 3-16-2009
It is two miles across

With the disaster in Japan makes one wonder how safe we are?
Will we be afraid to cross to the other side, take a cruise to Alaska or just stay home
setting in the corner? A Few year ago a boat carrying steel, hit the middle section at the highest point and several cars fell with the section of bridge (I believe 9 died).
At home we have rivers to cross with banks to high for a vehicle to cross
even Plate River which had been channeled out so it would not wander back and forth with a lot of curves. There was a crossing in the old days just south of 36, where Candy Creek ran in to it, was a gravel bar crossing there the wagons would cross.
The same with the Missouri River When I was a teenager they straightened it and we went up on Wyeth Hill and watched them blow open the new opening.
Now with all the bridges I figure we would be cut off from every one and try thinking of trying to survive if a Natural Disaster? Could we do half as good as Japan?

A Kiskadee do da day

Took one orange and put in tree and did not take long till one Kiskadee arrived
and started calling and three showed up.

They are a family of the Flycatcher Did not see him eat any of the orange? But below in the next two pictures he is eating some thing like a mix of Peanut Butter and I did not notice at the time but had a grape in his beak. Ya and they say I have a big mouth?

Notice the grapes stuck on the thorns of the tree.

Always need a drink from a little pool. They were flying around not staying in one place to long.
Mocking Bird was getting ready for his night? Could hardly see him back in the shrubbery.

Some different Shots Today

Sitting on fence post was a Crested Cara Cara, Bird of Prey.

OK, I don't believe it my self but here is the picture and Viola saw it too>
A Rabbit climbing a tree limb about 2 1/2 Feet off the ground.
I saw a video of a rabbit chasing a snake so what else will these Texas Bunnies do?
I said some different shots? Under that limb is head of alligator. Just with his eyes up and nose out of the water, he had submerged just before picture and was heading for the frog and when I took this the frog did a double back-flip out of there.

Some of the scenery along the Bay.
