Heading to the Yucca Fields, "I say yuck"

This is how it should have looked taken 2/28/08
Have started to bloom early in Spots this year but may have damage from Hurricane.
Had to put this one in, close shot not having to crop. can't believe I have seen 3 this day!

Did get picture of wild Javelin getting drink

Now this is where Viola really wanted to go!
Notice it says Snowbird Extravaganza? Well that is for the Canadians! They call us Winter Texas from the US.
We went in and listened to the music and them explaining the Canadian Health Care and their Booths and brochures.
To me the Comic Juggler was the best! As the Comic said you come because it is FREE!

Big Man's Lunch & Kids Inheritance

Kristi gives me trouble for this! I know I shouldn't but it is so good Spaghetti, Shrimp and Fish, ALL you can eat.
Now Mom has added this to the collection! She just had to have it. I don't know which of you kids will want it in the Will.
But you will be surprised on the bottom it says " Designed in California"! (that is in the USA)
Just put this picture in took to day on Padre Island Damage to Hotel and still not open!
Holes in side and windows covered with plywood, do to Hurricane Dolly.

Years to get this close

Time lens cover off and camera raised he is off and running you know how the Coyote feels! Had lens hood on or the sun would have silhouette roadrunner. These pictures were taken at Laguna Atascosa Refuge this morning. Missed a nice 6 point buck also with the Van, never had time to get the camera way he bolted in front of us!

We spoiled his hunt when he noticed us

Green Jay's are easy to get close to when in a blind or if you put half an Orange on a picnic table!

You always have to go to the Gator Pond and be glad that they are not Crock's cause they have free range and cross the trail to go to the bay

Always check the trail and wonder what has crossed it they do have Ocelots but they are small cats but at one time they did have the big cats.

This is at Padre Island and always have to get a picture of Pelicans They are graceful for a big bird

But if you want to be a friend to Seagulls and Pelicans you really need fish guts - as this fisherman just threw a bucket of them in to the water.

Now Gayla, I want you to get these next two items for your aquarium

Scorpion Fish, taken at Sea Lab on Padre Island,

most of the fish have been injured or washed up on the beach and brought to the Sea Lab.

Octopus, I was surprised they had one back in the last time they said the one was so smart that he climbed from one tank to the others eating the fish in them!

On her Birthday Viola shot the Bull

If you look close there is a cell phone in Viola's hand at the Long-Horn Cattle Co. Restaurant.
Yes there she is again! (And yes we drank Tea(!)

We went back to our place and had our Friends over that ate with us for Ice cream and Red Velvet Cake. Yes Gayla I remembered to bring my Tripod and took this picture to end the evening! Believe all had a good time!

Think I need that $5000 Telephoto Lens

Think it may be a Tricolored Heron? Now you see why I need a 400 mm or a 800 mm? You know Viola will say go right out and get that!
"UN" no not for this one!

Had a 75 - 300 mm for this one! Had to step back from it!

May have been 6 or 7 feet long - A Texas Black Indigo Snake thank goodness & not a Rattle Snake! Viola said I just missed stepping on it by 5 inches - I was looking up in the trees while walking looking for Green Jays & Altimira Orioles. I went on and Viola stayed there and there was a Rats nest in the tree which the Snake entered and ran out 4 rats which one ran right past Viola. Best Part was that Viola thought the Snake was fake at first and got just a couple of inches from it!

This may be a Great Egret do to its size I thought it was a Whooping Crane at first due to its size but did not see the redish color on the head

Crested Caracara taken along road Would have been closer but had 17 mm - 85 mm lens on and no time to change before he flew.

Arrived in Texas

This is what the Hurricane Dolly did to our trailer, there is a double roof so rain had to blow under
The metal is trim tore off the car port but notice the Hummingbird feeder I stuck it up with a coat hanger and had left it up and it stayed up. The Poinsettia plant is a tree here

That is my hand to show you the size of the bloom
